Project Summary
This typography-based exhibition catalogue was designed for Jan Jelinek, a German electronic musician whose work centers on dismantling and reassembling sampled material into rhythmic ambient music, largely unrecognizable from its original source.
The brief called for a printed coffee-table book with strong integration of type and imagery. The format is large and square, echoing a vinyl sleeve. Material choices were made to reflect the tension in Jelinek's practice between structure and fragmentation: transparent plastic sheets sit alongside striped embossed covers, referencing the way his music layers the tactile and the digital.
The 24-page layout moves between open white space and full-bleed spreads, following the same kind of controlled repetition and release that runs through his albums.
